Pugh examines the enormous logistical challenges faced by the expedition, the personalities involved and the origins of many familiar Darwin street and suburb names. The book also addresses the impact of settlement and surveying on Larrakia and Wulna lands, including the conflict that accompanied European expansion into the region.
